All Smiles for Fall

After a long summer of cool temperatures, we're getting a bit of Indian summer here. The thermometer has reached close to 100 degrees for the past two days and we have another hot one in store today. But thankfully, I know it won't last. You can see signs of the approaching fall. The leaves are starting to change and flutter to the ground. It inspires me so much to try and capture that feeling of cooler temperatures and brilliant colors in my watercolors. The painting above is now listed on eBay and ends tonight. It makes me smile knowing that fall is on it's way!

Glitterfest Fun with Paper and Fabric

I love mixing paper and fabric to come up with original folk art for Halloween. My Victorian paper doll witch is the perfect example! Her skirt is filled with tulle to make it full and then I've used vintage-style millinery netting over it. Don't you think it gives it the perfect gothic feel? And she is a favorite image of mine from my collection of Victorian scrap books. This spooky gal is about 17" tall, and has a unconventional glass glitter witches hat. She is the perfect door greeter for Halloween! (She has a hook in the back for easy hanging.) If you like her, visit my page on SpookyTimeJingles.com where she is currently available.

Also, if you're in Southern California, look for me at Glitterfest on Saturday, May 22, 10 am - 3 pm, at the Elks Lodge in Santa Ana. I always have a bit of Halloween available, no matter what time of year. Hope to see you there!

Away We Go To Halloween Town!

The EHAG Emporium opened at midnight and two witches decided to fly over on their Halloween Hot Air Balloon to see all the amazing art! I've listed:

Original Papier Mache Halloween Hot Air Balloon
I've painted two JOL faces on the "balloon." Two little witches face either side, so no matter what angle you see it from, it's always interesting! The piece sits upright on it's own or hangs from a curly hook at top. Lots of embellishments, dresden, vintage trim and ribbon. All hand made and measures almost 13" tall. $150 plus $10 shipping
Please email me to purchase.

Up, up and away we go into the night!!

EHAG Emporium March Blog Giveaway

Don't miss the EHAG Emporium GIVEAWAY, going on now during the last week of March from the talented sculptor Linda Kennon aka The Gourdqueen! Her Pumpkin Ornie is so adorable and made with a coyote gourd and clay, measuring 5 1/2" (not including it's wire hanger). He has been aged and sealed and will last for many Halloween generations! Head on over to the EHAG Emporium for all the details and to enter this free giveaway. Hurry! The winner will be picked Tuesday, March 30!

Plus, you'll want to return on Wednesday, March 31, when the EHAG Emporium will be having their doors open for all sorts of new, original Halloween art from the artist members of EHAG. I'm putting the finishing touches on my piece, which may soar far into the sky if I'm not careful! ;)  See you there!
